After climbing Ben Nevis we drove to Wasdale in the Lake District, unfortunately it got too dark to tackle Scafell pike on the Saturday night. We decided on another early morning and to do Scafell and Snowdon in the same day.

We started our ascent at 6am Sunday morning, and another glorious day was to greet us.

quick breather while surveying the rugged backdrop

With this scenery it can be a great place to lose oneself. Don’t worry we did wait for Jenny!

This is just before the scramble to the top

and it was a real scramble!

A well-earned rest as we neared the summit

Mountain Goats

They were delighted with the climb so far!

but one person is still smiling

and so is another

even Mr Swarbrick’s smiling (through clenched teeth)

Mrs Boyle just thinks this climbing is plain funny!!!

Nearly there

snow again!

We made it to the top of Scafell pike by 9.30am. 1 peak to go!
